North Thompson River As its name suggests, the North Thompson River is the northern arm of the Thompson River and originates near Valemount, BC. The beautiful blue-green river runs south along Highway 5 to Kamloops where it joins the southern arm to form the main Thompson River, which eventually feeds into the Fraser River in southern BC. |

Walloper Lake Provincial Park Walloper Lake Provincial Park is located just off the Coquihalla Highway, 37 km (23 mi) outside of Kamloops. Kamloops Lake Kamloops Lake stretches from Kamloops to Savona and is 1.6 km (1 mi) wide and 29 km (18 mi) long. Fed by the South and North Thompson Rivers, the lake is popular in summer for fishing, swimming and boating.
