Learn about life before European settlement at this site devoted to the history, culture and language of the Shuswap people. Ethnobotanical gardens exhibit traditionally used plants, and archaeological artifacts and house and canoe replicas are on display. A kilometre-long walking trail with interpretive signs goes through a wildlife marsh. Admission $6, or $4 each in a group. Open Jun. 1-Labour Day, Mon.-Fri. 8.30 a.m.-8 p.m., Sat.-Sun. 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Labour Day to mid-Dec. and early Jan.-May 30, weekdays 8.30 a.m.-4.30 p.m.
Three floors of exhibits are devoted to local and regional history. Take advantage of walking and bicycle tours, guided tours, children's programs or the Family History Resource Centre.
